Even our lender was under the impression that the purchase took place on March 31st, so much so that they reported the loan to the credit agencies. To add insult to the failed house purchase last week, my loan for the house that I did not purchase has now showed up on my credit report as active. One more proof that this system is broken and one more reason why everyone should be monitoring their credit report.
I am now in the process of challenging the entries and having them removed from my record. After-all, we did not purchase the house, at least not yet. If we do purchase it, it will be with a different loan as the first one was voided once the seller failed to return their part of the paperwork.
Just another endorsement for closely monitoring the information in your credit report.
