Apple's OS X Tiger has a built in version of the Oxford Dictionary. You can pretty much highlight a word anywhere, say on a website, and press Command-Control-D and a window will popup showing the definition.
Actually, you don't even need to highlight the word. Just hover your cursor over it and click CMD-CTRL-D. Neat!
